“Caricature is the completed journey of the portrait”
The portrait, the "canonical" one, has always been a pimp towards the subject depicted, it embellishes the features in the soul, moving further and further away from the true subject, therefore I feel like saying that it masks the truth, the caricature does the diametric opposite, through exasperations, it gives the truth of the soul, of the somatic features, revealing tics, grimaces and everything that characterizes a face, here the true caricature serves to unmask, giving light to the true self of the soul and physiognomy, this is why I have always asserted that caricature is the completed journey of the portrait!
